DAY SAIL/CHARTER DESCRIPTION
 
Your day begins by being welcomed aboard by our professional and friendly crew and then as we get underway, you will be offered a continental breakfast with fresh tropical fruits, pastries and choice of beverages. Sit back and be pampered or help set the sails as we head into the lovely, sheltered Pillsbury sound towards St. John and the worlds best sailing waters.
 
 
After an hour or so and dozens of islands have passed, where winds and whims dictate, we drop anchor for our first destination, usually beyond the end of your cares.
 
Full awnings go up and you’ll and you will have ample time to relax in the cool shade, take a swim, explore ashore (via our 14’ dingy) or perhaps go snorkeling and watch the colorful life on one of the islands virgin reefs- an experience you will never forget!
 
Then its off to our second private cove of the day, where we experience another reef and beach to explore!
Our gourmet lunch is served at either the first stop or the second, depending on the winds, and is one of the reasons so many return again and again to sail on the TRUE LOVE. After lunch you will have more time for snorkeling and swimming or conversation with new friends.
 
As we prepare to leave anchor you will have the opportunity to watch and participate in a dying art, we hoist the sails and as the wind fill them, we up anchor and depart under sail, “Sail off the hook” as sailing vessels did for hundreds of years before the introduction of engines. The TRUE LOVE is proud of continuing this forgotten art, as we only use our engine leaving and entering the marina!

HISTORY OF THE TRUE LOVE
 
"TRUE LOVE" was built in 1926 to the plans of Malabar VII from the drawing board of the famous American navel architect John G. Alden.
 
The Malabar VII was the seventh in a series of 13 cruising yachts designed by “John Alden” The Malabar VII won first place in the covenanted “1926 Bermuda race” before being delivered to the buying/owners.
 
This Malabar V11 changed hands several times before being featured in the 1956 movie classic “High Society” starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra with ”Louis Armstrong and Band”.
 
During the filming of “High Society” Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly sang the Cole Porter duet “TRUE LOVE” from her cockpit, thus giving way to her new name. Since then the TRUE LOVE has appeared in various films, the latest being “Syriana” with George Cloney and Matt Damon. The song “True Love” was redone into another hit in 1993 by Elton John and Kiki Dee

HOW TO GET THERE
 
As you disembark from your ship, follow the directions to the taxi pick up area. Let the coordinator for the taxi association know that you are going to Sapphire Marina. He will direct you to the correct 12-24 passenger safari bus for the 30 minute scenic ride.

TRUE LOVE is a Coast Guard certified sailing yacht, an Alden designed Malabar VII schooner with a maximum capacity of 22 guests. A minimum of 3 experienced crew are on board for the best personal service and safety. An accredited chef prepares an island continental breakfast and seasonal gourmet lunches. Enjoy a deck plan with ample shade for your comfort.
