NightWind is a wonderful example of the classic grace and beauty of yachts designed and built before the days of mass production. She was custom built in Sweden in 1956 and stands out in any anchorage. Originally intended as an ocean racer and passage maker, NightWind is a happy blend of uncluttered deck space and sailing prowess which results in an exhilarating and enjoyable sailing experience. A clever arrangement of deck seats and table provide a comfortable seating arrangement amidships not enjoyed by most other boats. Built of Iroko, or African Teak as it is more commonly known, NightWind weighs 28 tons which makes her more stable and comfortable at sea than lighter built fiberglass boats.

For your safety, NightWind is a U.S. Coast Guard Inspected Vessel and carries all the appropriate life rafts and safety equipment. We undergo three different U.S. Coast Guard exams per year plus we are required to conduct numerous safety drills. The combination of safety, comfort and ideal boat layout insure the best possible Day sail experience.

DAY SAIL/CHARTER DESCRIPTION

Join us at Sapphire Hotel and Marina, Slip S-33 at 9 a.m. Free Parking and Easy Dockside Boarding.

You start your day off with a Continental Breakfast aboard. Your day includes everything: open bar, champagne buffet lunch, snorkel gear and instruction.

For your added comfort, NightWind has swim floats, deck and cockpit cushions, shade awning, fresh water rinse, and of course a tender for taking guests ashore.

All you need to bring is a towel, bathing suit, sun lotion, and your camera.

The Virgin Islands offer the best sailing in the world! NightWind offers a comfortable day aboard a spacious yacht, sailing in the protected waters of Pillsbury Sound. Dotted with many islands called cays (pronounced "Keys") you will take in the picturesque U.S. and British Virgin Islands. As we sail along we like to share with our guests the history, tales and points of interest in the islands.

We set anchor in a quiet cove where there will be plenty of time to snorkel, swim or just relax under the shade awning. Even if you are a non-swimmer or 1st time snorkeler, you'll find snorkeling quite easy with our swim floats and large rafts. We have introduced thousands of newcomers to the beauty of our reefs along with colorful fish and coral. It's always rewarding to have a guest come back and say, "That was unbelievably beautiful. I never thought I'd be able to do it!" We also have floats with viewers to make it really easy.

After feasting on our "Champagne-Buffet Lunch", we will make a second stop for more snorkeling, beach combing, or napping under the shade awning. Then a smooth leisurely sail back sipping a tropical drink. We will arrive back at the dock about 4 p.m.

HOW TO GET THERE

As you disembark from your ship, follow the directions to the taxi pick up area. Let the coordinator for the taxi association know that you are going to Sapphire Marina. He will direct you to the correct 12-24 passenger safari bus for the 30 minute scenic ride.

Charter groups of 12 or more, we can reserve transportation for your group at a discount

Departing our dock(with easy access) at 9 a.m. Returning around 3:30 p.m.
